Special Friends ministers to children, students and adults, focusing on the unique strengths of each individual to allow for spiritual growth so that they may come to know Jesus Christ. Our staff at the Plano and North campuses is compassionate and well-versed in sharing God’s truth in loving, appropriate ways. And just as Jesus loved all who came to Him, we cherish our special needs families. We have established a support group for fellowship and the exchange of information, ideas and resources. We want to come alongside our special needs families and partner with you in ministry and life.
Both our Plano and North campuses offer a suite of specially designed rooms devoted to children, students and adults with special needs. We are blessed to serve families with special needs from throughout the North Texas region.
LifeGroups are provided during both Sunday Worship Services. Children, students and adults with special needs are welcome to participate in any of the programs at Prestonwood. In each ministry area, we strive to allow each student to participate as independently as possible.
We also have an amazing Special Friends Suite, which is located in the Saunders Children’s Building. The Special Friends Suite offers LifeGroups during both services for children, students and adults who have special needs, offering a time of worship and Bible study to meet the needs of each individual.
Special Friends learn to “hide God’s Word in their hearts” during our weekly AWANA Special Edition. With age-appropriate classes specially designed for our children, students and adults, our Special Friends will engage in a time of worship, Bible study and activity reinforcement.
