Getting Started

Procedures for Scheduling Your Wedding

1. Initial Contact

Contact the Director of Weddings at 972-820-5037. The Director of Weddings will assist you in selecting the date, time and location for your ceremony. Every effort will be made to schedule your wedding on the date you desire. However, due to the large number of weddings, we suggest that you have several options in mind.

Your desired wedding date will be forwarded for approval to the ministerial staff and the church calendar will be reviewed for availability. Weddings are not scheduled on Sundays, during church-wide events, on holiday weekends or the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

2. Application for Wedding

Fill out a wedding application and return the application to the Director of Weddings with a non-refundable deposit of $200 to secure your reservation on the church calendar. This deposit will apply to your facilities reservation.

The application and deposit may be paid online, dropped off at the Welcome Center in the Atrium or mailed to:

Prestonwood Baptist Church
Director of Weddings
6801 W. Park Blvd.
Plano, TX 75093

3. Appointment with the Director of Weddings

You will need to arrange an appointment with the Director of Weddings for a tour and to discuss the details relating to your ceremony at Prestonwood. The Director of Weddings will assist you with the following:

  • Calendar Reservations
  • Facility Reservations
  • Security Deposits/Payments/Fees
  • Video/Audio/Technical Needs
  • Assigning a staff wedding coordinator to coordinate the wedding rehearsal and facilitate the wedding ceremony and reception (if at Prestonwood)

At this appointment, important information relating to church policies and guidelines and vendor information will be explained. The Director of Weddings will answer any questions you may have and address any special needs concerning your wedding day.

4. Conference with a Prestonwood Minister

Following your date approval and appointment with the Director of Weddings, a conference must be arranged with the Prestonwood minister who will be performing your ceremony. Please understand that the Director of Weddings cannot complete the final confirmation of your wedding until a minister has agreed to officiate. It is your responsibility to schedule this appointment through his office. Our ministers do not perform ceremonies for couples in situations where one person is a Christian and the other is not. Because of our commitment and desire to build faith-based Christian homes, each pastor requests an appointment(s) with each couple. These meetings should be scheduled directly through the minister’s office.

In the event that you should desire someone other than a Prestonwood minister perform your ceremony, you should discuss this matter with the Director of Weddings. Only ordained evangelical ministers of like faith and practice will be permitted to perform a wedding ceremony at Prestonwood Baptist Church. Neal Jeffrey, Associate Pastor, may contact the visiting pastor to confirm his participation.

All couples are expected to participate in Before You Say, “I Do,” a course designed for engaged couples and those considering marriage. Each session consists of seven topical studies relating to building a biblical Christ-centered marriage. Those couples that cannot participate in the Before You Say, “I Do” course or a similar approved Pre-Marriage class will be referred to Neal Jeffrey.
