Trail Life USA

Trail Life USA – Troop TX-1202

Welcome to Trail Life USA, Troop TX-1202, a vibrant ministry of Prestonwood Baptist Church dedicated to building up the next generation of godly men. Trail Life USA is a Christian outdoor adventure, character, and leadership program specifically designed for boys and young men from kindergarten through 12th grade. Our mission is to help them grow in faith, develop essential life skills, and become role models and leaders in their communities.

Important Facts about Trail Life:

  • Trail Life provides an unapologetically Christian stance, with the Bible as the foundation for truth and stated Christian Worldview Essentials that permeate the program.
  • Youth membership is limited to only males.
  • Trail Life provides trained, background-checked, and equipped Christian men who lead boys in a male-centric environment.
  • Trail Life provides a boy-focused program and activities designed to let boys be boys, accentuating their strengths.
  • Trail Life provides a robust awards program and challenging physical, mental, and spiritual objectives that let boys experience victory.
  • The Charter Organization that has a Trail Life Troop owns and operates that Troop as its own ministry.
  • Dads do not have to participate. Whether a dad is permanently or temporarily out of the picture, your son is welcome at any Trail Life Troop. There he will find many godly men to help him along his journey to manhood.
  • Troop 1202 is open to non-Prestonwood members. However, we do require various leadership roles within Troop 1202 to be members of Prestonwood Baptist Church.

Living the Trail Life

At the heart of the Trail Life USA program is adventure. Boys and young men embark on a journey filled with hands-on experiences that foster personal growth and develop leadership abilities. Rooted in timeless values from the Bible, the Trail Life program guides each participant through three distinct age-based groups, ensuring that activities are tailored to their specific stage of development.

Age Groups

  • Woodlands Trail (Ages 5–10): In the Woodlands Trail program, younger boys gain foundational knowledge about outdoor skills, citizenship, character, friendship and faith. Through engaging activities, awards and skill instruction, they begin their journey of growth and discovery.
  • Navigators (Ages 11–13): As Navigators, boys deepen their understanding of their values and beliefs. Under the mentorship of godly male role models, they take on responsibilities in outdoor adventures and everyday life, exploring areas of interest and earning Trail Badges that mark their progress.
  • Adventurers (Ages 14–18): Adventurers face greater challenges that test their wisdom and faith. Through leadership activities and outdoor events, they mature as they take on leadership roles within the Troop. These young men also mentor younger Trail men, sharing the knowledge and experience they’ve gained on their journey.
