As a longtime member of Prestonwood, I knew in my heart I wanted to experience being a bride who had the joy of working with Donna McIlroy and the Wedding Ministry Team. From the very first call to schedule our wedding ceremony, I was made to feel special and that meeting our every need in preparing for our wedding was a priority. One of the most special and unique things about being married where the Gazebo is on the Plano Campus grounds is the intimacy of this space. The grounds where the cross from our original Prestonwood church (and the one where I was baptized) alongside the beautiful Gazebo are overlooking the serene setting of the reflection pond. The Wedding Ministry Team ensured the grounds were manicured to perfection, power was available in the Gazebo for our sound system, and the fountains were turned on prior to and throughout our 6:00 p.m. ceremony in May of 2019. Our heart’s desire throughout the planning of our wedding and the experience of our special day was to create an atmosphere where our friends and family witnessed a God-honoring ceremony, felt the presence of the Holy Spirit, and clearly heard the Gospel presented. The Prestonwood Wedding Ministry team took every care to help us accomplish this and more. We will forever be grateful as we reflect on our incredibly special day.

We are so grateful for our experience of being married at the Prestonwood Chapel! From our first phone calls with Donna McIlroy throughout the entire wedding process, we felt valued and loved. The help with planning, the attention to detail, and the way that they cared for us as a couple was such a blessing. We loved the emphasis on making sure our foundation of faith was first and foremost as we walked into marriage. The Prestonwood Chapel is not just a venue. It is not only beautiful, but it is also a holy place. We will forever be thankful that we were able to be married there!

The Lord is the perfect author of our lives, and we couldn’t have felt that more than we did on our wedding day.

Our engagement was only 11 weeks long. The timeline was different than most, but after many years of dating, we were so ready to be husband and wife.

We have been members of Prestonwood for years now, and when it came time to think of the place where we would say, “I do,” before the Lord and our loved ones, we knew there was only one place we wanted to do it – Faith Chapel. Our good friend, Tim Matthews, married us on the beautiful fall afternoon of November 16, 2019. The day was a true fairytale, and we can say a big part of that was because of Donna and her team. They made us feel like family. From the first meeting to the send-off, every detail was taken care of by the Prestonwood wedding team.

When we first met Donna, we were immediately drawn to her warm personality and joyful smile. She embodies every quality you look for in a wedding coordinator – intentional, detail-oriented and kind. Donna prayed for us, checked in on us, and asked us how our Before You Say, “I Do” premarital classes were going – which we loved! She and her team also took the time to walk us through the process of wedding planning, and the day of details. During our rehearsal walk-through, I specifically remember my dad saying, “Wow. That was the most organized rehearsal I’ve ever experienced.”

The Prestonwood wedding team made sure all their “ducks were in a row” and it showed. Our family was so impressed that my older brother and his wife were married in the chapel almost a year later.

Every time we step into the chapel, we are flooded with the most wonderful memories of the day we entered into a covenant with Christ as man and wife, and we feel confident that this was the right place to have our dream wedding. May Prestonwood continue to be the destination for many godly weddings to come!

Where do we begin? It’s so hard to put our incredible experience with this team in only a few sentences! From the moment we met Donna and the team we felt like family. Trying to plan a wedding in the middle of a pandemic was challenging to say the least, but they listened to every detail and accommodated each one with ease while keeping safety as the top priority. During our first meeting, we were so impressed with how thorough and attentive Donna was to all of our desires and everyone’s commitment to communicate efficiently throughout the entire process. It also helped that they give you a huge binder with information to keep everything organized! The chapel itself is absolutely breathtaking and hardly needs any additional décor, which is a huge plus! There was so much help from the team at Prestonwood on our wedding day that we didn’t have to worry about a thing! Everything was set up beautifully, exactly the way we wanted it! The most important thing we wanted to do was represent our story with how the Lord brought us together and to honor Him during our ceremony with worship. We were able to do just that with a full band (including a harpist), and several vocalists – it was absolutely incredible! From the very first meeting to the conclusion of our ceremony, everything was seamless. It was without a doubt God ordained for us to have our wedding here, and it was truly a dream fulfilled! We would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
