American Heritage Girls

What Is American Heritage Girls (AHG)?

American Heritage Girls is a national, Christ-centered character and leadership development program for girls ages 5 and up. Rooted in faith, AHG’s mission is to build women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country.

We are committed to partnering with families to raise young women who are:

  • Confident in their identity in Christ
  • Skilled in practical life areas
  • Grounded in biblical values

Each week, our girls grow in:

  • Faith – through Scripture-based devotionals and prayer
  • Leadership – with age-appropriate responsibilities and public speaking
  • Service – serving both the church and the wider community
  • Life Skills – from outdoors to sewing, first aid, and more
  • Fellowship – building lasting friendships in a wholesome, Christ-centered environment

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Romans 12:2 guides our vision for Troop TX1220 as we walk alongside girls in becoming Christ-centered leaders who reflect God’s truth, compassion and strength in every area of their lives.

We welcome girls across all AHG program levels:

  • Pathfinder (ages 5–6)
  • Tenderheart (ages 7–9)
  • Explorer (ages 10–12)
  • Pioneer (ages 13–14)
  • Patriot (ages 15–18)

Family Involvement

AHG is a family-integrated ministry. We encourage involvement from mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and other family female members in a variety of roles – from unit leaders and event helpers to prayer support and behind-the-scenes planning.

When We Meet

Our troop year runs from August through April, following the school-year calendar. We meet weekly at the Plano Campus of Prestonwood Baptist Church and offer optional special events such as:

  • Adventure Days and Hikes
  • Badge Workshops
  • Service Projects
  • Holiday Parties and Socials
  • Mother/Daughter and Father/Daughter Events
  • End-of-Year Awards Ceremony

We’d love to meet you at our next Interest Meeting! This is a great opportunity to:

  • Meet our leadership team
  • Learn more about the AHG mission
  • Discover how your daughter can be part of the 2025-2026 troop year

Bring your questions and come see what AHG is all about!
