KIDZ Midweek Updates

Week of September 7

AWANA

Quarter Night

Bring your quarters to contribute to our fall missions focus! The offering will be collected at Council Time in Cubbies and in the Sparks and T&T classrooms. We will discuss information on where the funds will be sent during AWANA.

AWANA Store

The AWANA store will be open every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. HangGlider books (Sparks, Kindergarten) and Agents of Grace (T&T, grades 5 and 6) books are now available to purchase at the store.

Parent Volunteers

We’d like to remind you that one parent from each AWANA family is required to serve once a month. You may choose to serve in your child’s classroom, at the entrances and exits of the Children’s Ministry Building as a “badge checker,” or as a volunteer during Game Time (Cubbies and Sparks) or Council Time (Cubbies). Duties in the classroom including listening to verse recitations and helping to direct the students to their rotations. When you are scheduled to serve, you will receive an e-mail from Planning Center with the number of the classroom where you are asked to serve. Please arrive a few minutes before 6:30 p.m. to assist the teacher in preparing to receive the class.

Building Security Protocol

As we begin a new year in AWANA, here are a few reminders regarding our security protocols at drop-off and pickup.

  • ID Badge – Parents must have an ID badge to enter our secure children’s areas.
  • Secure Area – Parents who are not dropping off, picking up, or serving as approved volunteers are not permitted to remain in the Children’s Ministry Building during our program time. Beginning next week, our AWANA Directors will be checking the hallways to ensure a safe environment for all of our kids.
  • Pickup Badge – If your child is in third grade or under, when you check in for Midweek activities (Kids’ Worship, AWANA, CREW), you will receive an additional badge with a security code that corresponds with your child’s name tag. This must be presented at pickup before your child can be released from the room.
