There’s a statement by Michael Neale on his personal website that is incredibly telling and yet wonderfully succinct: “Songs and stories. That’s how God’s been using me. That’s who I am.”
Michael is a gifted singer and songwriter, a powerful communicator, a featured leader and teacher at conferences all over the country and a best-selling author. Above all, he’s an anointed worship leader.
Michael joined Prestonwood in August of 2015 as Senior Worship Leader—leading worship at the Plano Campus and giving oversight to the entire worship staff across the three campuses.
Michael is no stranger to Prestonwood as he has led our Men’s Conference the past few years and has been a vital part of our worship team on a part-time basis the past year.
A Dove Award-winning songwriter, more than 100 of Michael’s songs are sung in churches around the world. Some of his writing credits include “Your Great Name,” “Mercy Tree” and “Gloria.” He has penned songs recorded by artists such as Michael W. Smith; Natalie Grant; Charles Billingsley; Todd Agnew; Phillips, Craig & Dean; Anthony Evans, Jr.; Shane & Shane; Lacey Sturm and others.
Michael is also the author of three books—Your Great Name, The River and its sequel Into the Canyon. The River Experience, birthed from the best-selling novel, is a highly-acclaimed live production in which Michael brings the story he penned to life with powerful storytelling and incredible visuals.
Michael comes to Prestonwood from Florida, where he most recently led worship at Christ Fellowship Church in Palm Beach Gardens.
Michael and his wife, Leah, live in Plano with their children, Micah, Maisie and Wyatt.

We want to help men, women and students recover from emotional, physical, relational and spiritual wounds through the power of Christ. Through classes, small groups and individual discipleship, the Life Recovery Ministry will help people pursue, overtake, and recover a life of peace and purpose.
We are a dynamic congregation, with people from all over the North Texas region who have come together for a common purpose—to study God’s Word, to worship Him, to do His work, and to reach the world with the Gospel message.
We unapologetically value six core areas in the life of our church. Together, these shared values identify who we are, rally us toward all that we desire to accomplish, and unite us in fellowship.
No matter which campus you attend, you’ll find warm smiles to greet you; vibrant, worshipful music to lift your soul; and powerful teaching from God’s Word that will transform your life.
