“My husband, Dusty, and I recently
participated in the Prison Outreach
Weekend as a part of the 90 Days
of Blessing. We had the privilege of
ministering in the Faith-Based Dorm
at Murray. We sat with women who
are so hungry for the Word of God.
These women are captive, but free
in Christ, and they are excited about
their faith!
My husband was the ‘Apple Man’ as he handed out
apples to all the women as they finished their lunch.
We will never look at an apple again without thinking
about how excited the women were to receive that
apple. Something so commonplace to us was like a
treasure to them.
I sat in the chapel service along with the women,
praising God, and heard singing like I have never
heard before. These women were all dressed in their
white prison clothes. As I looked around, I thought
about how someday they would exchange these prison
clothes for their ‘robes of righteousness.’ My life was
forever changed on that weekend. I am so thankful
for Prestonwood and the many opportunities it offers
to minister to those in prison.”
