Our Restorative Justice Ministries seek to evangelize and disciple inmates within state prisons, and provide care for residents in a transition home. In addition, it ministers to community members who have loved ones who are incarcerated.
There are several ways for you to become involved:
- Evangelism: Our church participates in several weekend evangelistic crusades by taking Prestonwood men and women volunteers
into Texas state prisons. In addition, we work with special outreach ministries to incarcerated youth.
- Discipleship: Teachers are needed to lead Bible studies at nearby Texas Department of Criminal Justice facilities and in the
mentoring of men in a local transition facility.
- Local inmate facilities: Men and women are needed help conduct worship services at several local Texas Department of Criminal
Justice facilities. These services are typically led by Prestonwood members with a message provided by a Prestonwood minister.
- Mentoring: Opportunities are also provided to disciple recently released men and women believers through mentoring.
- Christmas: In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Prestonwood volunteers help fill bags decorated by children in
Prestonwood's Children's Ministry. These bags are filled with sweets, personal hygiene items and a written copy of the Gospel message.
The gift-filled sacks are then delivered to over 10,000 inmates (from cell-to-cell) by male volunteers.
- Transitional Housing: Our church helps inmates make the transition back into society by partnering with a Coalition of
Churches to sponsor a transitional house for men who have been recently released from prison.
