Kindermusik Class Policies
Payment Options
Kindermusik classes must be paid in full at the time of registration.
There is no annual registration fee. All costs are included.
Registration Deadline
Timely registration is necessary to ensure that students receive their At Home materials by the first day of class.
Registrations received after the early registration deadline will incur an additional $15 fee.
Late Fees/Delinquent Payments
There is a $10 fee for late payments and a $25 fee for returned checks.
Choosing a Class
The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to best group children in an age- and
developmentally appropriate way. Therefore, it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the
semester for the class in which you are enrolling. If you have concerns about your child’s success in a particular age range,
we can discuss your child’s needs and work with you to place him/her in the class best suited for him/her.
Non-enrolled Siblings
Due to limited class sizes and the delicacy of the young class settings, Village and Our Time classes can only
accommodate non-enrolled siblings when the sibling is young enough to stay content in an infant carrier or stroller. However,
emergency situations are considered; so please call if we can help.
Refunds
Tuition refunds or credit vouchers may be given only if there are extenuating circumstances requiring withdrawal from class.
All refund requests will be considered on an individual basis. The cost of materials and a $10 processing fee are non-refundable.
Make-up Classes
Come to class, unless your child is ill. Although we will miss you if you need to skip a class, we appreciate your
consideration for the health of the other children, parents and teacher in class.
There are no make-ups for missed classes. The only exception is in the case of a serious illness or event that causes your
child to miss more than 3 classes in one semester. In this case, we will make a special concession to allow your child to have
an opportunity to make up by attending another class time of the same level.
In case of teacher illness, the class will be rescheduled.
In case of inclement weather, we will follow the local school district decision on closings unless we call you otherwise.
If there is a snow delay, we will still have class at the regular time.
Making the Most of Your Kindermusik Experience
When To Arrive
Plan to arrive about 5 minutes early for class (but not too early). Arriving a little before class provides you and your child time to settle into the
musical environment as he/she prepares to enjoy exploring instruments, reading books or listening to music.
What To Wear
Dress comfortably since we will be up and down and all around! You’ll need to remove your child’s and your own shoes prior to stepping
onto the Kindermusik floor mats. A cubby storage cabinet will be available for you to store your shoes and personal belongings.
What To Bring (What Not To Bring)
Toys, juice cups and pacifiers should be kept out of sight. Snacks should be finished prior to class. We want to make every effort to keep
the Kindermusik classroom clean and free of distractions.
Restroom Needs
Please make sure that your child takes care of restroom needs prior to or after Kindermusik class time. You won’t want to miss out on
any of the fun during class!
Visiting
During class time, be sure to focus your attention on your child. We love for parents to visit before or after class, but not during
class time, please. When you are an active, focused and enthusiastic participant in the class activities, your child will be more
likely to model your actions and focus more fully, too. Children tend to lose focus when adults talk to each other.
Behavior Protocol
A group environment may be a new experience for your young child. We understand that he/she is still learning how to interact in a
group setting, but must ask that you be sensitive not to compromise the safety or enjoyment of others in the class. If your child is
having difficulty focusing or participating, gently redirect his/her attention. If your child becomes disruptive (crying, screaming,
running), please step outside the classroom to give your child a moment to calm down. Come back in as soon as you can.
Many parents see a completely different child at home as they share Kindermusik activities there. It’s OK if your child is
hesitant in the group environment. He/she is always learning and observing no matter what his/her response may be.
At Home Materials
At Home Materials are one of the quality features that make Kindermusik a unique experience. You and your child will benefit
enormously from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home Materials. Frequent reinforcement
at home during the week makes all the difference in a child’s comfort and participation in the classroom.
Lost Items
Items that are accidentally left behind will be placed in the cubby storage cabinet.
What To Expect
Expect only the best as you and your child begin a wonderful, musical journey! Kindermusik is a dynamic program that has been
researched and found to foster growth in every aspect of your child’s development—physical, emotional, cognitive, musical, language
and social. It builds a love of learning and music to last a lifetime. Most importantly, it brings parents and children together
to share a time of fun and discovery. The power of music can change his life forever. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of
your child’s most impressionable years!
