Andrea Blazier
Piano

Andrea began studying piano at age 5 and violin at 9, receiving pre-college music instruction at Butler University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Oberlin Conservatory, where she also began teaching. Through her work with Oberlin’s Piano Lab outreach program, she was awarded the 2005 Music Teachers National Association’s STAR teaching award. Andrea received her graduate performance degree in 2007 from Indiana University, where she also taught through the school’s Young Pianists Program.

Active in the summers, Andrea has served as a performer, counselor, and mentor to young music students at Brevard Music Center, Indiana University’s Piano Academy and Credo Christian Chamber Music Program.

In addition to teaching at Prestonwood, Andrea maintains a piano studio in Dallas, serves as the pianist at Casa View Baptist Church, and is an accompanist to music students at Southern Methodist University. Andrea is a versatile member of the European Ensemble, performing piano and violin for weddings and events throughout the Metroplex.

Andrea’s teaching style is focused and upbeat, with fast-paced and enthusiastic lessons. She enjoys helping people of all ages express themselves through playing piano, and strives to learn from her students as well.
