Local Missions

"The light that shines farthest shines brightest at home." —C.T. Studd

The proclamation of the Gospel is imperative, and God’s command to “go and make disciples” still echoes...from the lush jungles of the Amazon River basin to right here at home—in the housing projects of South Dallas and apartment complexes in the northern suburbs.  The heartbeat of local missions is no different than what we do nationally or internationally.  It is to see lives transformed by the message of the Gospel.  That Good News accompanied by the great need of those around us leads to the various ministries of local missions.  Don't be fooled—what we do at home validates what we do abroad.

Pray about how God could use you right here in North Texas, and come join us in what God is doing through our ministries.

City Missions Rally (Plano Campus)

Are you interested in learning how you can serve locally here at home? Come to our City Missions rally! This is the one day where all our volunteer leaders gather to celebrate last month's ministry highlights. This time of food and fellowship includes a message from a guest speaker and a two-hour breakout time for each ministry to meet and work on specifics within their ministries. Since each City Missions ministry is represented at the rally, this is a perfect time for mission coordinators or interested volunteers to learn more about our various local mission opportunities. This rally is also open to all Prestonwood members interested in learning more about our City Missions Ministry. The rally is held the last Sunday of every month in the Sports & Fitness Center (Plano Campus) from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. For more information, contact Nancy Lemere at nlamere@prestonwood.org.
