The In-Touch Ministry exists to share the love of Jesus Christ with those who reside in retirement communities, rehab/care facilities, or those who are homebound. Areas of service include:
- Visiting with residents
- Leading Bible studies
- Leading a worship service
- Participating in a worship service through singing or playing an instrument
- Visiting those who are homebound, including providing respite for in-home caregivers
- Holding prayer times
- Holding a reception or craft activity with residents as an Adult Bible Fellowship outreach activity
By bringing a personal touch to these individuals, we bring glory to God and fulfill the biblical mandates to “honor your father and mother” (Exodus 20:12) and “visit orphans and widows in their need” (James 1:27). We believe it is God’s desire that His servants finish well and want to be a part of that.
If you have a servant’s heart, and are looking for a place of service to those who need visits, hugs, love, prayer, comfort and the Gospel, consider joining the In-Touch Ministry today! To learn more, contact Ryan Irwin at 972-820-5322 or email@example.com.
Platinum Singers is a senior adult choral program at Prestonwood Baptist Church. The organization consists of two choirs (“two groups, one heart”) that rehearse on Thursdays, September through November and January through May, with summers off. Prestonwood membership is not required to participate in either group.
Platinum Choir (no audition necessary): Membership in this choir requires only a love of singing (the ability to read music is not required). Platinum Choir sings hymns and fun songs and frequently ministers through singing at senior adult facilities in the area. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. (Room W207).
Platinum Chorale (by audition only): Membership in this advanced choral choir is for those who can read music and have fine vocal skills. Rehearsals are Thursdays, 1:00–2:15 p.m. (Room W206). To audition for this group, e-mail Carolyn Tucker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Both Platinum Singers choirs are directed by Dr. Rix Tillman, a retired pastor with an extensive musical background.
Singing opportunities for both groups include ministering at senior adult communities and participating in senior adult choir festivals and other special events.
For more information, contact Carolyn Tucker at email@example.com or 972-820-5287.
Scoops and Scripture
The Scoops and Scripture Ministry mobilizes believers to engage people with the Gospel in senior residential facilities. Scoops volunteer teams visit assigned residential facility monthly. Scoops gatherings include a time of singing, a Gospel devotional, door prizes, photos, fellowship and an ice cream party (with a scoop!). Residents receive a photo album, and every month they receive a new Bible verse card to decorate and a photograph with their Scoops team to place in the album.
To learn more, contact Phil Mitchell at 972-820-5177 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

Serving Widows and Widowers
The Bible teaches us to provide for widows (widowers) so they can live to serve God. For information about support groups and assistance for widows and widowers, click here.
