ozarks-branson-stripSet in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, the town of Branson is one of the most popular destinations in the Midwest. While the city is best known for its theaters and shows, it has much more to offer than just live music. With easy access to two lakes, a family-friendly theme park, a centuries-old cave, and a historic downtown district with a plethora of shopping options, this Missouri town has something for everyone.

Day 1

ozarks-fallscreekWe depart the North Campus this morning at 7:00 a.m. bound for Branson, Mo. Enjoy lunch on your own during our lunch stop along the way. Following a brief afternoon stop, we expect to arrive in Branson at 5:00 p.m. Upon arrival we will check in to our four-star hotel (Chateau on the Lake Resort). We will enjoy our “welcome dinner” this evening at the Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House.

For more than 20 years, the Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House has been a popular dining destination in Branson. Inside, you just might see Rudy, the resident guitar-playing, singing, roll-tosser serenading someone enjoying a delicious meal of steak, catfish or one of the many other entree options available.

After our delicious dinner, we’ll drive back to the lovely Chateau on the Lake Resort for our overnight stay.

Day 2

ozarks-lambertsAfter breakfast on your own this morning, enjoy some free time prior to our scenic drive to Lambert’s, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch. Famed for its “throwed rolls,” you should keep your eyes open at all times for flying bread! Later, we drive to the historic downtown area of Branson. Take a step back in time as you walk this Victorian era-styled district of streets lined with vintage lampposts, brick facades and mom-and-pop stores. such as Dick’s Old-Time Five & Dime, one of the most popular attractions in town. Spend the morning perusing many of the unique shops and galleries and take the free trolley over to Branson Landing.

ozarks-branson-landingAt Branson Landing, you’ll find a lively waterfront retail and entertainment district. Featuring a lakeshore boardwalk and a town square with a unique water attraction that mixes water, fire, lights, and music, this area has a more modern atmosphere than downtown. You will find top retail shopping including Belk’s and Bass Pro Shops.

If you’re looking for locally made goodies, check out The Crystal Fish – Gifts of Distinction or the Grand Village Shops—located a couple miles down Highway 76 and featuring everything from luxury soap to handmade jewelry—or Kringle’s, a year-round Christmas store. Opt for lunch or dinner at one of the casual or fine dining establishments on the waterfront or head back downtown to the depot on Main Street. Try the Farmhouse Restaurant or the Branson Café for tasty Midwestern food. The Branson Café has been dishing up delicious homestyle meals to hungry locals since 1910!

ozarks-samson1This evening, we will enjoy a real highlight of our trip to the Ozarks, a performance of Samson at the famed Sight & Sound Theatre in Branson, one of the best theaters in the country. The theater is absolutely state-of-the-art and expertly combines original music and script with unforgettable acting, special effects, vibrant costuming, and live animals. Journey along with Samson as he follows his life-calling and fulfills his path of obeying God. The audience is sure to be wowed and inspired as Samson battles the Philistines, conquers personal demons, and even wrestles a lion along the way. With stunning visuals, this show is brought to life right before your very eyes. The story begins before his birth when his mother was approached by an angel who informed her that her son Samson would save Israel from the Philistines as long as he never drank wine and allowed his hair to grow. He was born with great strength and grew to face many trials, eventually being betrayed by Delilah and being held captive where he prayed to God and gave himself over to Him. Journey with this unlikely hero as he battles his enemies — and his own personal calling. It’s an unforgettable, uplifting Bible story that will literally bring the house down!

Day 3

ozarks-showboatThis morning, breakfast is on your own at a local Branson restaurant. Sitting in the shadows of the Ozark Mountains, Table Rock Lake is a prime destination for boating, kayaking and canoeing, plus swimming, scuba diving and parasailing.

We’ll see gorgeous views of Table Rock from one of the most unique vantage points in Branson. Themed after the majestic showboats of the 1800s, the Showboat Branson Belle will take us on a two-hour lunch cruise across Table Rock. As you stroll the ship’s four decks, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the lush Ozark Mountains, beautiful at any time of the year.

ozarks-lakeBefore and after our cruise, you can enjoy the scenery and shopping at the ship’s dock, White River Landing. An extended intermission between the meal and the beginning of the live show gives guests time to sit back, relax, and take in the scenic views. Whether you’re sitting in one of the comfy Adirondack chairs, strolling along one of the four grand decks or looking through the window from your table, you’ll be able to enjoy the gorgeous scenery of the Ozarks.

This evening is open for you to choose a show and dinner on your own. We will help you book your tickets in advance.
